A Month of Music, Celebration, and Community

March is shaping up to be an exciting and engaging month for residents on the 3rd Floor at Oʻahu Care Facility. With a full calendar of activities designed to encourage connection, creativity, movement, and fun, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. From festive celebrations and social gatherings to music, exercise, and games, our residents will have plenty of opportunities to stay active and involved throughout the month.


Daily Activities That Keep Residents Engaged

Each day begins with Morning News at 9:00 AM, helping residents stay informed and start the day together. Throughout the week, residents can enjoy a variety of physical and social activities such as:

  • Chair Zumba, Tai Chi, and Yoga

  • Exercise and Stretch Classes

  • Bingo and Table Games

  • Arts & Crafts

  • Painting and Coloring

  • Word Search and Pictionary

  • Karaoke Sing-Alongs

  • Tea Time Trivia and Personal Interest activities

These programs help promote both physical wellness and mental stimulation while creating opportunities for residents to connect and build friendships.

Special Events to Look Forward To

March also brings several exciting themed events and social gatherings that make the month especially memorable.

Girls Day Celebration – March 3Residents will celebrate Girls Day with a Hinamatsuri documentary and a special snack, highlighting the cultural traditions of this meaningful holiday.

Rosa Hula Performance – March 13Residents can enjoy a lively hula performance, bringing the spirit of Hawaiʻi to the 3rd floor with music, dance, and cultural celebration.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration – March 17Get ready to go green! Residents will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with an Irish Soda Bread Social, fun games, and a documentary about the holiday.

Spring Begins – March 20The arrival of spring will be welcomed with activities including Bernie Music Hour and a Muffin Social, creating a cheerful way to celebrate the new season.


Kuhiō Day – March 26Residents will enjoy a Fresh Fruit Social and family movie night as we recognize this important Hawaiian holiday.

Resident Council & Monthly Birthday Party – March 27Residents will gather for the Resident Council meeting, followed by a birthday celebration honoring those with March birthdays.


Music, Movies, and Social Time

Music and entertainment are highlights throughout the month. Residents can enjoy Bernie Music Hour, Music with Sanford, karaoke sessions, and a variety of movies including comedy, romance, action, and family films.

Social gatherings such as Smoothie Socials, Cookie Socials, Cocoa Socials, and Muffin Socials create relaxing moments where residents can chat, laugh, and enjoy treats together.


Honoring Social Services Month

March is also Social Services Month, a time to recognize the dedication of the professionals who support residents and families every day. Their compassion, advocacy, and care make a meaningful difference in our community.

The March activity calendar reflects our commitment to creating a vibrant and supportive environment where residents can stay active, social, and inspired. Whether enjoying music, celebrating holidays, or simply sharing a cup of cocoa with friends, every moment helps make the 3rd Floor community a special place to call home.

We are located in the familiar lower Makiki/McCully area of Honolulu. The picturesque Central Union Church with its expansive lawns is just west (Ewa) of our residential facility with McCully Street just a block and a half heading towards Diamond Head (east).
